UPCOMING 2010 SCARBOROUGH COMMUNITY CHAMBER EVENTS● On Thursday, September 9, 2010 @8:30am, the Scarborough Vision Implementation Committee will be meeting at the Town Hall.
● On Monday, September 20, 2010 @12pm, a SCC Board meeting will be held at the Scarborough Town Hall.
● On Thursday, October 7, 2010 @
5pm, Business After 5, in
conjunction with the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber, will be held at Moody’s Collision Center,
Scarborough.
PAST EVENTS
● The 10th Anniversary season of Scarborough's
Concerts in the Park is now over! Thank you to all our sponsors,
musicians, attendees, and volunteers. Special thanks to Art Dillon for
doing such a great job organizing the concerts, to Community Services for being
a great partner, and to Scarborough Rotary for doing concessions. We have estimated over 8,000 attendees!
MEMBER NOTICES
● The SCC and SEDCO have been
working on a long-term economic development Vision & Plan for Scarborough
for the past year+. The final Vision document is now complete (visit
www.ScarboroughEconomicDevelopment.com/Vision to view it) and the
implementation portion of the process began in January 2010.
Implementation Strategies for Vision Statements 1 & 2 have just been
completed. The remainder of the Implementation Strategies will be
discussed starting at the September 2010 meeting. If you would like to be
a part of the implementation process, please contact
VisionComments@maine.rr.com. The group meets the first Thursday of each
month at 8:30am at Town Hall. Thank you for being a part of this
important community process.

● Scarborough Community Chamber's brand-new website will be launched shortly- keep your eye out for the announcement.
● As a reminder, any Chamber member is welcome and encouraged to include something along the lines of "Proud Member of the Scarborough Community Chamber" or "Proud Member of the Portland Regional Chamber" plus the respective logo on their letterhead or communications, if they would like to do so. If you need a file of the Chamber logo for your letterhead, just contact Laura LeBrun by e-mail at llebrun@portlandregion.com and she will process your request.
● Scarborough Community Chamber is now on Facebook and LinkedIn. Just search for "Scarborough Community Chamber" under "Groups," and "Businesses" and request to join/become a fan. These groups are open for any member of a Scarborough Community Chamber business. Start a discussion with your peers on one of these sites today!
● Are you an enthusiastic person, full of good ideas? Then you're just the person we're looking for. The marketing committee of the Scarborough Community Chamber currently has an opening. The committee works to increase communication among the chamber's members, to increase the benefits of membership, and to promote the chamber within Scarborough's business community.
