Falmouth

Scarborough
Scarborough, situated on the coast seven miles southwest of Portland, is a pleasant commuter town with a thriving business community. Among its most beautiful features is the scenic 3,100-acre Scarborough salt marsh. Maine Medical Research Center and Hannaford Bros., a huge food retailer, both call Scarborough home. Maine's first governor, William King was born here and the internationally respected artist, Winslow Homer, painted many of his best known works at Prouts Neck. Scarborough's quick access to nearby I-95/Maine Turnpike puts Portland just minutes away to the north and New Hampshire less than 40 miles south.

South Portland
The city of South Portland's new Liberty Ship Park celebrates a proud history in which "Rosie the Riveter" built hundreds of the so-called "Liberty" cargo ships which many historians credit with helping to win World War II. On the west side of Maine's second largest city is the Portland International Jetport, Fairchild Semiconductor, National Semiconductor and the state's largest indoor shopping center, The Maine Mall. South Portland has one community college, seven elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school, which has frequently won state championships in football, field hockey and instrumental music.

Westbrook
The city of Westbrook's pleasant small-town style and appearance have been linked for more than a century to the Maine paper and wood pulp industry. Today Sappi International manufactures a wide range of products, while nearby Calpine Industries has a huge state-of-the-art natural gas fired power plant supplying electricity to more than 500,000 homes and businesses in southern Maine. Nestled on the banks of the Presumpscot River, which has powered many Maine paper mills over the decades, today the River is the site of a lovely waterfront park, with the Saccarappa Falls right in the middle of town. Incorporated in 1891, the city is named for an early settler, Col. Thomas Westbrook.
